Dave posted the preview for his new book. So I think I'll put up the sample page I did with him. more awareness is always good.
I ended up having to turn down the job. Despite wanting to work with Dave.

Lineart: Dave Hamann.

Dark Swan:stormborn
Issue 1. (In stores May 18th)
From Sealion books.
(Just to repeat, I am not working on the book, but Dave is)
The other colorist did a great job, if not as super cool as I am.

Thanks.
This is probably a good representation of my "default" style atm. You can see it in most of the collabs with Dave. It really meshes with his work very well. A few others you can see it too.
While I try to adjust my methods to compliment who I'm working with.
And on the larger project, Ever, never, and maybe. Working on that over years, progression and evolution was inevitable. By the end, I was really *trying* to be consistent, and not let more recent methods bleed in too much.
I'm a big fan of blending the lineart into the color, for example. but specifically did not do this in Ever, as the earlier work had solid lineart. Although, I did do it in the photos in ever.

Haha, I bet it was interesting maintaining a consistent style with Ever, Never and Maybe. That project lasted several years, right?

If this is your "default" style now, it looks like your in a good place. :)

haha yeah. In the end, it certainly isn't as consistent as I would have liked. But I do value progress over consistency in that regard.

"In a good place" ha. yeah, if only I had a nice creator owned project I could use it on, and get paid. haha.

Good god, you're getting good. Why haven't I seen you in a Marvel or DC book yet?
