Thought I would upload the full Una the Blade chapter2, I did for Steve a while back now. Originally, I only posted a couple pages, hoping to draw more people to the Illyham livejournal to read more, and possibly check out some of the other stories.  But its now been awhile, and I figure it would be nice to have the full thing shown here.  I do love the character, and Steve's art.

Popgun vol4 came out Feb 24th. Which had 2 pinups by me and Matthew Wheldon in them. Some great stories in there.  I especially liked D.J. Kirkbride, Adam Knave, and Jason Ibarra's "The Black Decahedron".  Great story about Maths.

Oz/wonderland chronicles: prelude to evil also came out the 24th, iirc.

Moved to a new apartment a few weeks ago.  Living alone. can't afford it, so I'll likely have to move again soon. haha.

Maybe/Never will be out soon.  Kristof said he had got the hard copies in, and was having good turnout for signings.

Kristof put together a neat video for Maybe.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfCzuK…

I have to get the exact release info from him.  I'm sure he told me at one point, but I forgot.

Borderlands looks awesome.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOb_ZH…

Probably will be checking out DragonAge:origins as well.  I am a sucker for Bioware.

Doing a new comic project atm.  over/under pencils. its alot more work per page. ugh.   Page is very slow. Which allows alot of free time to do some sketching/drawing. Hopefully it will provide money for food, while allowing me some time to work on progress.   And I swear I won't use this time to play Borderlands for 10 hours a day.  Really.
Fall is here, and I actually intend to grab my camera and get some photo shooting in.
  • Listening to: The Ting Tings, and Freezepop.
  • Reading: Facial micro patterns for lying.
  • Watching: out for love.
  • Playing: Mass Effect. again.
This months Zuda has a number of kickass entries.
I'm helping pimp out 2 of the ones I know.
Jimmy Bott :iconjimmybott: and Dean Welsh
Opsec
www.zudacomics.com/node/1248

And
Adam Atherton  :iconadamda:
Lily of the Valley
www.zudacomics.com/node/1237

This is Adams second Zuda comic.  Some might remember, I had previously stated that Adam was looking for a colorist for Lily, but ended up doing it himself. While I saw the full comic awhile ago, and loved it.   He's got a ton of votes going for him atm.
But its early still!
Page views, and good ratings can give a 2nd place comic another chance to go again. And comics can make a comeback over the month. so give Jimmy and Dean some love too.
That zombie comic is pretty sweet too, although I don't know the creators....

Also,
Much the Millar's son has a new site. It's still in progress a bit. The links don't work yet. haha.

Khary has had a DA account for a while appearently.  I didn't know about it, and he never used it.  And the 370ish page views, says no one else did either. haha
:iconkharyrandolph:
He says hes going to start making use of it.

-----------------

Wish there were more artists around where I live.  Drink and draws sound like so much fun.

-----------------

I'm always open to individual coloring commissions.  Full drawing/painting commissions at some point.  Send a note if anyone is interested.

  • Reading: my own epitaph.

DOOD!
Just finished up my second full comic. Maybe with Kristof. :iconkristofspaey:  Sure is nice to get paid for work.  Maybe will be a 46 pg comic. With 2 followup books.  Some time before we work on those however.
we won't talk about the first full comic I worked on. :)  It was more then a few years ago now, and I will just say, I've gotten a bit better.
I'm fairly happy with the progress that was made on this book.  I was often curious how much I would progress with regular work.  Honestly, even at the end of the title, I felt myself trying to avoid pushing too far, to prevent too much of a shift from beginning to end.

I do need to find some new work however now that I'd done with my last project.
So, hint hint.  :D
  • Listening to: The Ting Tings.
  • Reading: tax laws.
  • Watching: out for love.
  • Playing: Left 4 Dead, Baldur's Gate 2, and Disgaea 2.
Thought I would post a journal.
I've been busy working on a comic, and doing a few side projects.
I am fairly pleased with the progress I'm making from working regularly.  Speed is a major issue still however before I can expect live comfortably from coloring haha.
But it is nice to actually get paid to do something you love. There is an old saying, Find something you love that you can get paid for, and you will never work another day in your life.

So much to improve upon though. It's very humbling to look around at others works. I have a long way to go.

Closing in on 10k hits. It's a bit of a meme to do thank you images for counter milestones. I'm too busy atm to do one.  I really want to do some original works though.
  • Listening to: Dragonforce.
  • Reading: ones and zeros.
  • Watching: out for snipers.
  • Playing: Left 4 Dead.
wow.  I got an image on daily deviant.
It took nearly 5 months to get 2k hits on the site. And I'm going to get 1k today alone.

I'll start posting more original work at some point. But as a colorist at the moment.
If you like what you see, follow the link provided to the penciller and let them know as well.  Its a group effort.
  • Listening to: The song of the electric pulse.
  • Reading: The lay lines.
  • Watching: The stars burn out.
Originally, I intended on having a safety net before I quit, in the form of a contracted coloring job.
But I couldn't quite stand working at the greenhouse any longer.
So I gave my notice regardless.

I am looking for work!  I haven't had a vacation in about 5-6 years, so I won't mind a bit of time off. Which translates into spending all day painting anyway most likely. lol. But I can't go too long without an income.
That cintiq won't pay for itself...  Well if I had a job it technically would, wouldn't it?

I am open to individual commissions if anyone is interested. Price determined by complexity.
Topping off at $75 mostly likely for a fairly complex pinup.
